What types of pet insurance cover are there?
New pet insurance policies increasingly offer customised pet insurance cover, online quote engines allow you to build the best pet insurance policy for your pets needs.

Accident only – Cover for illness and vets fees resulting from accidents involving your pets. Policies do not cover treatment of illness or disease not caused or resulting from an accident.
Limited time cover – Cover for disease, illness and accidents for a limited period (usually for up to 12 months). Policies will cover each condition or illness for a period of 12 months maximum.
Lifetime cover – Annually renewing lifetime cover. Policies will cover conditions and illnesses for the life of your pet, cover limits renew annually for as long as you keep renewing your policy.
What information is required for a pet insurance quote?
In order to get an accurate pet insurance quote most pet insurance providers will require some basic information.
It is important that you are honest about previous illnesses and treatments, failing to provide accurate information may invalidate your insurance cover.
Typical information you will need to provide includes:
